Is there anyone else that thinks it would be a great idea for a developer to create a Vista Gadget that would allow users to scan specific files for malicious information?

My first post…
I first thought of creating a blog that would simply be a web portal for my initial reaction to the constantly changing world of technology, when I was listening to one of the many Podcast that I listen too during my commute to & from work. So here we go…
Technology Prices…
The general prices of technology products in the last 5 years has come down significantly. I mean think back to the last computer that you bought; mostly likely the price that you paid for the internal components of the computer are considerably more expensive per part then what you can get today. That is not even saying that the computer you are buying today is like a twin turbo on NOS compared to the technology of yesterday.
I get a weekly email from newegg.com that has their latest “hot deals” and every week I am astonished by how low some of the prices are for the various components. System RAM is the product that I notice the most. I mean 2 GB of quality RAM would have cost you around $125 and today you can buy quality RAM for $50. That is a crazy price drop in the industry.
The reason that I was thinking about this topic and wrote about it is because I want to know what others think about this topic. What do you think of the price drop in the technology industry? Do you think that this is a sign of a falling technology and if so what is new to come? Your thoughts on the subject?

I thought that it would be a good idea to start my blog with a basic review of the different products in the technology world that I use on a daily basis. . So where do I start…I will have to do some information gathering on my various technology and get back to you.
